- 1 onion
- 1 apple
- 1 1/2 cup tomatoes (about 3)
- 1/2 cup stock or water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 3 cloves
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- Peel and finely chop the onion and apple.
- Remove skins from the tomatoes by pouring boiling water over them and then placing them in cold water, then slice the tomatoes.
- Put all the ingredients into a small saucepan and simmer gently until the onions and apples are tender.
- Serve hot with roast lamb or grilled chops.
